The Django ORM and multilingual database contents

Tuesday, June 7th

16:15–16:35

Abstract

Making a generic solution for multilingual database contents in Django is not easy, nevertheless I started project-nani to do exactly this. In this talk I will explain why I did that and how it works, and why the Django ORM makes this task so hard.

About Jonas Obrist

I'm a passionate Python developer, and after a few years of
frameworkless Python CGI web development, I finally switched to Django
and pretty much instantly fell in love with it. Nowadays I am the lead
developer for the django CMS, one of the biggest reusable Django apps,
and have a number of other Django apps I maintain, most notably
django-classy-tags, django-sekizai and project-nani. During the day I
build websites using the django CMS for the Swiss web agency Divio, the
driving power behind the django CMS and the Django Shop projects.
